The pictures were taken in The Elsinor and also Whitby Rowing Club sessions. During Whitby Folk Week 2011.
The Sunday afternoon session at the Elsinor was loads of fun and the pub was absolutely packed solid and standing room only. For those of you who don't know the pub, it's not hard to get packed solid - there is only one room. The music was recorded on a Zoom H1 Handy Recorder, and the rumbling sound was the pub's extractor fan which was running flat out to cope with the heat.
The recording was done over approximately three hours, so we've edited and condenced the running time to about one hour for the wedbsite. So turn up the sound, grab a beer and listen / join in with the fun. I wish I could list the tunes which were played, but as usual, most of the music was new to me. No matter how many tunes you learn, there are always new ones to be discovered. We should perhaps offer a prize to anyone who can name all the tunes....( don't all write in....)
To all the musicians, audience and of course The Elsinor - a huge THANK YOU for a great afternoon.
